“Southern Laser Technology Center” uncommercial partnership (UP “SLITC”) was created in 2008 within the framework of the Russian-German Laser Technology Center Network project.

The project is based on the intergovernmental agreement, made in 1992, on scientific-technical cooperation between Russia and Germany in the field of laser research and technology.

In 2002-2003 Laser Association (www.cislaser.com) together with the Russian Industrial Science Ministry started in Russia the program on regional laser technology centers foundation.

Today, such centers are founded in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Obninsk and Taganrog.

The partners in such projects were Laser Association of Russia and Hannover Laser Center (www.lzh.de).

The Moscow LITC (www.mlitc.ru) together with Laser Association is the head organization of the whole LITC infrastructure and gives organizational support to the regions in a part of introducing modern LTO capabilities to the leader-specialists and contacting perspective partners in other regions of Russia and also in Germany.
